Since the beginning of the year, Corum machine builders have produced 760 thousand spare parts and 10 new shearers and roadheaders to support Ukrainian coal mining industry

Machine builders continue to work hard to meet the needs of Ukrainian mines in equipment, and thus - to help them extract coal for the needs of thermal power plants.

For that during the first nine months of this year, machine builders have manufactured and repaired 982 units of mining equipment. Among the main products are 10 new roadheaders and shearers. Plant workers also provided the needs of miners with 758 thousand spare parts and components.

“We have entered another unprecedented heating season. But we have been preparing in advance and intensively to be ready for it. As much as it is, of course, possible in the conditions of war and the consequences of shelling. Energy workers have been continuing the restoration 24/7 for many months. Miners extract coal and maintain sufficient fuel reserves at thermal power plants. And machine builders help them by providing with the necessary equipment. Because the key for everyone is the quick restoration of capacities and increased reliability of Ukrainian thermal power plants during the winter,” said DTEK Energy CEO Oleksandr Fomenko.

Thanks to the support of machine builders in equipment, the company’s miners have put 16 new longwalls into operation in the first nine months of this year. Another 9 are planned to be put into operation by the end of the year.

The company’s investments in Ukrainian coal mining by the end of the year are expected to be about UAH 7.7 billion.
