Corum delivered a roadheader to Poland
"The Polish market is comparatively new for us, we are developing it actively. Thus, last September we presented the first unit of machinery to the Polish miners in Katowice, and this February we shipped the third KPD roadheader already" - said Ildar Saleev, Director of the Underground Mining Division of Corum.
KPD is a flagship product of tunnelling machinery of Corum; it repeatedly demonstrated its reliability and high performance in various countries. It should be noted that the roadheader is equipped with electronic visualization system enabling to control and, if necessary, to plan routine maintenance of various assemblies. Moreover, KPD is controlled by means of remote-control console using a radio signal or a flexible cable. This allows a roadheader operator to stay in the most convenient place for him, which finally contributed to the performance of the machinery as a whole.
Brief overview of KPD roadheader
KPD roadheader is intended for breaking rocks with hardness up to 100 MPa, loading and transporting the broken rock during roadway development with different shape and cross-section ranging from 11 to 30 m2.
This design compares favourably with its predecessors in innovative structure of conveyor turning section, reinforced steel structure of the main members, increased operational life of ranging arm and a number of other modifications.
