Mining Machines to Repair 4,800 Powered Supports Every Year
The new repair shop will reduce two times, from two months to one month, the duration of overhauls of standard longwall units (about 130 powered supports). The move will help the miners to boost production and speed up the commissioning of new longwalls.
"Repair shops are a part of our service strategy. This year we have opened three specialised sites in Ukraine and Russia, investing more than UAH 50 million. Alongside the launch of repair shops we develop a system of original spare parts procurement and offer non-warranty maintenance," said Igor Fomenko, Mining Machines' Director of Marketing and Sales.
A 11,500 sq m repair shop has 100 equipment units, including a high-technology welding system by Austria-based Fronius, the global welding equipment producer, the table blast machines for cleaning big parts, a paint chamber, and lifting devices.
Representatives of Ukraine's leading mining groups attended the shop launch to learn processing capabilities and competitive advantages of the new service.
We remind that this year Mining Machines has opened a repair shop in Gorlovka town to provide maintenance of roadheaders and shearers, and a repair shop in Kamensk-Shakhtinskiy (Rostov Oblast, Russia) to repair powered support and other mining equipment of the company's Russia-based customers. For the past six months the facility in Gorlovka has repaired 7 shearers and is working on another 14 units.
